Understanding the Charm of a Rose Tattoo

Posted by Sasa On August - 28 - 2009

Rose TattooWhat does a rose tattoo signify? It embodies love, affection and romance. Rose tattoos are used to adorn both men and women. Though women have a decided preference for roses, some men too get themselves a rose tattoo symbolizing undying love for their sweetheart. Popularly known as the “Queen of Flowers”, the rose looks its regal best when inked with all its velvety petals in full show. On being permanently inked onto the skin, a rose tattoo brings out the tender side of a woman and evokes love in the eyes of the viewer.

There are various shades attached with a rose and each color depicts a different emotion. Although love and romance are the common elements associated with a rose tattoo, an extremely dark shade of the rose can show passion and a white color will enhance peace and chastity. A black rose tattoo will bring out the dark shades of character and yellow symbolizes friendship. The purple color denotes enchantment and the pink color portrays sweetness. If you want to achieve the impossible, then getting a blue rose tattoo will surely pass on the message. Similarly, success can be portrayed by a golden rose.

Rose TattooThere are many spiritual and divine interpretations of the rose tattoo. Many historic legends are depicted through the beauty of the rose. Aphodite, the Greek Goddess of Love, is characterized by the rose. According to the ancient tales, red roses sprung up in the very places where her blood dripped. She was beauty and grace personified.

You can inscribe a rose tattoo anywhere on the body. The shoulder, back, neck and ankle are favorite places for getting the tattoo. The number of roses and its size varies a lot. Some people get themselves tattooed throughout the body. A long branch starts from the back and finds its way to the front across the shoulder. Some tattoos are engraved across the entire leg. The belly button is a hot place for the rose tattoo. But no matter how small or large a tattoo is, it always signifies love and beauty. Adding color to the tattoos will enhance its splendor and impart a beautiful meaning to your personality. So get yourself tattooed and exude a distinct style.
