Foot tattoos are great decorative patterns which when inked appropriately adorn the feet beautifully. However, there are some important aspects that must be taken into account prior opting for such tattoos.
A tattoo design peeking out of a sexy shoe of a woman can look very striking and alluring. It actually enhances the sensuous appeal of the wearer. This is one of the reasons why foot tattoos are so popular amongst female tattoo enthusiasts. However, due to some complications often associated with foot tattoos, you must cautiously take your decision after considering following aspects:
1. Consider the size of the tattoo. Since there is not much space available you must go for a smaller and less detailed pattern. Pay heed to the artist’s advice, if he says that a particular design is big and cannot be tweaked enough to fit the limited space and still look good, then agree to what he says.
2. You must know that feet shed their skin faster than all other parts of the body. Hence, it is important for you to select a color that is likely to last longer. Often lighter colored inks fade out easily and quickly, so, go for darker shades. Though these too will fade away but will still last longer than the lighter colored ones.
3. Be prepared for the painful tattooing procedure. Foot tattoos are considered to be the most painful ones. This is because there are several nerves in the foot area and there is not much cushioning between the bone and the skin. Moreover, there are also chances of bleeding. The higher one bleeds, the greater are the chances that you will bleed out the colors applied on your tattoo.
4. Consider healing time. Foot tattoos take nearly two week’s time to heal. In the mean time you need to take all necessary precautions like protecting the tattoo from dust and heat .Wearing flip flops or going shoeless is also required to ensure nothing rubs against it causing irritation or infection.
5. Often people with foot tattoos experience some swelling and soreness in their foot area after the tattooing procedure. In such a case, a few days off from work becomes important, especially if the work demands you to be on foot for long. Let your foot relax so that the pain diminishes and the tattoo heals faster.
6. Listen to your artist’s suggestions. An experienced and professional artist knows exactly what works and what doesn’t. So, pay heed to his advice and be prepared to bring about necessary changes in size, design, placement etc, if asked for.
7. There are some artists who offer touch ups for their clients. It is always better to go for it. If your artist does not offer the service free of cost then be prepared to pay for the touch ups.
